MALANG, February 7, 2026 – The future requires more than just intelligence; it demands resilient leaders who truly understand their team’s character. This spirit was the driving force behind the IBM Youth Summit 2026, successfully held at the Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) Asia Malang on Saturday (Feb 7). With the theme “Empowering Young Leaders for a Resilient Future,” this second annual event served as a platform for students to explore their leadership potential in a fun and contemporary way.

Character-Based Leadership: The “Four Colors” Concept One of the main highlights that captured the participants’ attention was the introduction to leadership styles through the “Leadership Colors” concept, inspired by the DISC method and the book Surrounded by Idiots. Participants were invited to take a personality test to discover their type: Red (Dominant), Blue (Analytical), Yellow (Expressive), or Green (Calm).

“Every participant was guided to recognize their own leadership style. This concept wasn’t just theory; it was immediately put into practice through simulations and team projects so they could understand how to communicate effectively,” explained Kevin Lusian, the Project Leader of IBM Youth Summit 2026.

Full Support from Inspiring Figures The event featured an impressive lineup of speakers, ranging from Risa Santoso, B.A., M.Ed. (Rector of ITB Asia Malang), Karolus Danar Kurniawan, M.Ikom. (CEO of Cara Bicara and Coordinator in Chief of IBM Asia Malang), to Nur Elif, S.E., M.M. (Head of Innovation & Digital Development at ITB Asia).

Risa Santoso emphasized that leadership must be cultivated from an early age. “In this era, young people are encouraged not only to think about profit but also to possess morals, ethics, and social awareness,” she stated.

Exciting Vibes and Extensive Networking The enthusiasm of the participants was palpable throughout the event. Safira, one of the attendees, expressed how impressed she was. “It was so exciting and fun! The activities were engaging and added a whole new experience for me,” she said. Echoing Safira’s sentiment, Ceicil also felt that the event helped her get to know herself better and expand her network.
