Malang, 13 November 2024, IBM Asia – In an effort to prepare students for the professional world in multinational companies, the International Business Management (IBM) program at Institut Asia Malang hosted a guest lecture featuring Rahmat Anggara, CEO of Qasir, as the main speaker. The event, held on (event date), was led by IBM Asia Malang’s Coordinator in Chief, Sr. Karolus Danar Kurniawan, M.Ikom, who is also a startup founder and CEO. This lecture provided students with valuable insights into the skills and mindset needed to succeed professionally.
Rahmat Anggara highlighted the importance of a well-rounded skill set to compete in a multinational environment. He explained that success in multinational companies requires a balance of hard skills, like business analysis and technology proficiency, alongside essential soft skills. These include cross-cultural communication, critical thinking, and time management.
Anggara emphasized that networking is a critical soft skill that can greatly influence one’s career success. According to him, strong and broad connections open unexpected opportunities, especially within multinational firms where the exchange of ideas and learning from diverse backgrounds can lead to growth and career advancement.
Anggara shared his own experiences working in the banking and private oil sectors, which taught him adaptability and resilience. He described how these industries, though different, each offered valuable insights into various workplace cultures, demanding continuous growth to meet industry needs.
Anggara stressed that career progress no longer depends solely on major cities. With advanced technology, career opportunities are accessible from various locations, allowing individuals to thrive without being confined to one place. Multinational companies are increasingly focusing on individual qualities over location, broadening opportunities for ambitious individuals everywhere.

During the Q&A, Batch 1 students John Indra and Salwa Safina actively participated by asking questions about networking strategies and overcoming industry challenges. Anggara’s enthusiastic responses inspired students, guiding them to be well-prepared for future professional journeys.
