Today was a truly exhilarating day for the IBM Crew, especially for batch 2! We were buzzing with anticipation as we prepared to meet our distinguished guest from Trent Global Singapore. It felt surreal to be the first IBM batch to kickstart our classes, and the excitement was palpable among us.
Dressed to impress in our blazers and shirts, we looked and felt professional, ready to dive into the world of learning. FYI, IBM Institut Asia Malang is associated with Trent Global Singapore for a Tourism and Hospitality program is mind-blowing. A double degree after 3.5 years of study? Sounds like we have a deal!
Our class started at 10.00 AM sharp in IBM Room 202. It was a full house with both batch 1 and 2 students. We were introduced to some fresh, new faces and got to know each other a bit better. Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Jeremiah, our instructors for the day, seemed dynamic and engaging.
After the initial excitement of meeting our new classmates and instructors, it was time to get down to business. We each took turns introducing ourselves, sharing our backgrounds and interests. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and we quickly realized we had a lot in common.
The real learning began when Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Jeremiah introduced us to the world of professional communication. We learned about the art of crafting a compelling CV and building a strong personal brand on social media. The interactive approach, including group discussions and brainstorming sessions, kept everyone engaged and eager to participate. It was clear that these sessions were designed not just to impart knowledge, but also to equip us with practical skills that will be invaluable in our future careers.
The interactive learning continued with an unexpected twist. Mrs. Kelly challenged us to a real-life simulation: a mock interview. A collective wave of shyness washed over the class, but our lBM lecturer, Sr. Danar, stepped in to break the ice. He picked a student from batch 1 to be the volunteer, its Amel!
Initially nervous, Amel surprised us all with her poise and professionalism. Her responses were spot on, and she handled the pressure with grace. Amel girly, you definitely nailed it!. Mrs. Kelly was clearly impressed and gave her a thumbs up, offering her encouragement and constructive feedback. It was a valuable learning experience for everyone, proving that with a little courage, we can conquer any challenge
The class concluded with a lively student feedback session where everyone shared their thoughts on the lecture. It was a great opportunity for the instructor to get valuable input and for students to voice their opinions. To cap off the class, we had a fun photo session to capture the camaraderie and learning experience we shared.
On the next day, a much-anticipated talk show on landing jobs overseas by Mr.Jeremiah. It was buzzed with excitement even though it clashed with the final exam for IBM batch 1. The event, held in the main building theater of Institut Asia Malang, drew a mixed crowd of students, high schoolers, and registered participants.
Titi, the MC, kept the program flowing smoothly, while Sr. Aryton, our English conversation lecturer, provided expert translation for Mr. Jeremiah’s insightful presentation. Mr. Jeremiah, the guest speaker, shared valuable tips on standing out from the competition and navigating the entire process of securing overseas employment, including visas, CV preparation, health checkups, and more.
The audience actively participated in a Q&A session, eager to get detailed advice on working abroad. Mr. Jeremiah responded with in-depth explanations, even rewarding some participants with gifts for their questions. In closing, the talk show proved to be a resounding success, offering invaluable guidance for those aspiring to embark on an international career journey.
